dinner tonight [Sep. 22nd, 2002|08:42 pm]
[Current Mood |calmcalm]

rosemary roasted chicken with baby potatoes and steamed broccolini.

Quiet weekend. Accomplished no work, but I'm way ahead and am looking to deliver on time so no rush. Feeling under the weather, stayed in much of the weekend. Food shopping this morning, then a nice lunch of peanut butter and pink grapefruit marmalade sandwiches. Allergy season, lots of 12hr Sudafed. Spent a few moments with the president of the condo assocication discussing shrubbery. Found out the value of our place has doubled (!) since we bought in four years ago.

dinner tonight had with the Late Harvest 97 Riesling from Sand Castle. Despite the sweetness making it a dessert wine, I thought it paired well with the savory chicken, but perhaps brought out the alcohol a bit much (hic).

be seeing you!

Re: broccolini

I have mold allergies, as do most people who spend four years at Rutgers. I like the 12hr sudafeds because they don't make me drowsy and do the job, and I restrict my intake very carefully to not develop a tolerance.

Molds can be in all sorts of places- it could be in the ventilation, the carpets, on the walls, in the bathrooms. I sometimes wonder how long an institution will wait until they deem a building as sick. I suppose they not only need complaints but actual proof that people are getting sick from the place.

The Riesling is good- perhaps better since I actually went to the winery where it was grown.

Yes, I'll have to check out the link. So far, reiseling is the own white grape wine I enjoy, but mostly because it is a desert wine.

[Re: my age post]
I'm not sure you would necessarily want my feedback on that, considering my position and attitude on the subject, so I've held off.

Well since I do not know your stance, I really cannot say. I am sure there are some opinions on why I feel the way I do just as they are reasons brokensymmetry pointed out to me about older people being around me. As long as you speak honestly, I can't fault you for your opinion.

I know some of the possible theories about my situation (psychoanalytical, Fruedian). I am now trying to sort out the other side of equation- the older person attracted to the younger one. I do appreciate your opinion because you come from that other side and can give me your point of view on the situation.
