mmmmm

oh, they're beautiful. i wanna go, too!
i wish i could scan (well, i COULD, i mean, i wish i had the initiative to scan) my pictures of pompeii. it's very arcadian now that the grass is everywhere, sort of mysterious. the kind of place over which little kids should be given complete authority.

Re: mmmmm

Thanks! You bring up a memory of being there- a group of schoolkids in uniform were piled about the abbey, each with sketchpads drawing various sketches of the ruins. Most of the kids were noisy, and raucous, and comparing notes and making social commentary on eack other's talent but in one, quiet place like a vortex among them there was a girl, carefully pencilling and not just acting or even being any good about drawing or showing any talent but all about enjoying being there, just living in the moment.

I get frustrated with my photos afterward, sometimes, because I thionk they sometimes turn out crap but I like these, more than the others I took this weekend, because I feel like that girl- I was just there, living the moment of having a wonderful day out.
