I just decided to walk over to the strip mall one (NYC) block away, in the 95 degree heat here in Vacaville, for some food. Boy, was that a mistake of a start to my walking career. I'm done!

Tomorrow is going to be a big day. Bed now.

That said, there's nothing quite like the chinese food here in California.

Vacaville used to reek of onions all the time, I loved it when I was a kid. There were onion farms everywhere. Now, the fields are covered with tract homes and supermarkets, no more onion smell. :(

But yeah, the valley's very hot and very dry in the summer. Redding, where I grew up, is routinely 90+, not infrequently 100+, sometimes 110+.

You're a few miles from where my great great great grandparents landed in 1856.

I have never had good chinese food in California. :(
