We went to Eight Mile Creek for an early dinner. I started with the Fox Creek "Vixen", while LL had a cider, and we split an order of Spicy Prawn Dumplings. Entrees were Bacon Wrapped Pork Chop with Spiced Pear for me, and the Kangaroo filet with mashed sweet potato for her. Dessert was sticky date pudding for me, and flourless chocolate souffle for her. This restaurant was very nice, and the menu was interesting enough that I think we will likely be dining there again.
After dinner, LL had arranged us to see Blue Man Group. They are hilarious! I really enjoyed the PVC pipe marimbas, and you have to enjoy anything that can extract maximum embarrasment from the squeamish. It's kind of funny in a meta way the way they make fun of consumerism and branding and the fundamental depersonalization and isolation of technology and modernism, while the whole Blue Man brand is up for sale in the lobby and they have a franchise of shows all around the world.
An auspicious conjunction of thirteens- my birthday, and the thirteenth anniversary of us meeting. Yay! And to top it off, I got flowers too, when I arrived home on friday.
