Watched Amelie this afternoon- this was one of the DVD's we purchased in the UK and unsuprisingly, I loved it. Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a genius and I rate Delicatessen one of my all time favorite films. I very much want that on DVD. True, I disliked City of Lost Children... but I am willing to overlook that.

Amelie lost out among the two movies which were in competition for a weekend viewing months ago- to Le Pacte des Loups, which I enjoyed just as much, if not more so, for its assault on my senses. I was browsing my past and could not find an entry. I have been severely remiss in recounting my present. Let this be a lesson.

Update: I commented on Le Pacte de Loups here.

I LOVED Amelie. I think I watched it about 4 times on a 20 hour plane trip and if the flight had been any longer I'd have probably watched it another 4.

it's one of those movies

that makes me cry. I'd be an utter wreck after that flight, I think. I suppose underneath it all I'm a hopeless romantic, no?
