Over the weekend I mentioned the following documentary to some new friends, and wanted to provide a link: Secrets of the Sexes. I had mentioned that in general, I tend to detest science shows, particularly of the type exemplified by Brian Greene's Elegant Universe, because they tend to take a purely doctrinal view of scientific accomplishment of the form "this is the answer at the back of the book" and speaking from a point of authority without giving the casual listener enough background or justification to believe that they *deserve* the position of authority. Unlike most other documentaries, this one on the difference between the sexes does a fairly good job of explaining each position and sets up, in justification/falsification style, various common beliefs about the differences between men and women and tries to see what various scientific metrics and tests can be used to gain insight on these things.
